Relocation

Our home buying experience in Nashville was a success thanks to the professional services of our realtor, Maria Patton. From our first internet correspondence to our closing, Maria truly listened to our needs. Since we were from out-of-town Maria was invaluable in identifying the East Nashville neighborhood where we would feel completely at home. Maria was accommodating to our schedule and was always available to us.  She was persistent and provided leads to us weekly. She guided us through negotiations while maintaining her impartiality.  We unconditionally recommend Maria Patton to anyone who is considering a move to Nashville TN.

I have assisted several clients with their relocation to Nashville from everywhere in the US and abroad. My experience with the relocation process mixed with my expertise in working the Nashville housing market as a buyer’s agent makes the relocation process smoother for my clients.

If you are planning on relocating to Nashville, you certainly have questions. Some of the most common questions I get are about neighborhoods, schools, safety of neighborhoods, commute time and what it is like to live here. My clients have relocated from everywhere. The West coast, France, United Kingdom, Mid-West, New York and the South and they all love it here.

When it comes to finding a neighborhood that is a good fit for you, I first tell people to try and realize that know place is going to be like where you are moving from and secondly be honest about what it is that is most important to you. My specialty is Nashville’s Urban markets. I have lived in the downtown Nashville area most of my life and I know the ins and outs of this type of lifestyle.

Some of the most popular downtown neighborhoods are:

East Nashville

12th South

Germantown

Sylvan Park

SoBro

Downtown Proper

The Gulch

Melrose - Belmont – 8th Avenue

It is VERY important for anyone who is planning to move here to visit first. I always tell people to try and plan on a week or at least a long weekend.

When it comes to neighborhood schools and safety issues, unfortunately I am not allowed to give any advice or comment on those issues. I can give all the resources available so that you can make and informed decision. I would suggest Nashville’s Police Department website for neighborhood safety questions and always check with www.mnps.org which is Nashville’s Public School Board website about school zoning if you have questions about a school zoning.

One of the great things about living in any of Nashville’s great downtown neighborhoods is the convenience. Most commute times within the city will be minimal. In traffic they will be around 15 to 20 minutes. If you are heading south to Williamson County to work during rush hour then your drive will be around 30 to 40 minutes.

If you are moving to Nashville and you have a house to sell first: Depending on your market, you want to give yourself at least a 90 day cushion to sale your home there. Yes, you can put a contract on a home here with what is called ” a home sale contingency ” but Nashville’s housing market is pretty good and especially in certain areas. Sellers are not always willing to accept an offer with a home sale contingency. You have more negotiating power if you have already sold your home or have a contract on it.

Life in Nashville is amazing. I am a native Nashvillian. I have lived in other cities and I do travel quite a bit. I think Nashville offers a little bit of everything. I think you have to visit and see for yourself. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if I can help you move to Nashville.
