If you are waiting until spring to list your house, well I am going to tell you in as simple terms as possible..DON”T. Here is why. The market as changed. What used to be tradition is not. Yes, spring time is a usually and is the more favorable time to list but let’s look at a few things.
- Every home seller in your market will be putting their home on the market in the spring hoping to capture the same buyers you are driving the competition way up.
- When competition goes up offers tend to be lower because buyers have too many choices.
- There are approximately four months and half months left for first time buyers to take advantage of the first time buyer’s credit and the same for home owners who qualify for a 6500.00 dollar credit. That is very little time
- If you qualify for the new tax credit, you have to get moving, literally.
- Serious buyers are out and they are looking to buy!
Having your home listed during the winter months does not have to be a stressful ordeal and can actually be done so that it accommodates your schedule. Why not get a jump start on spring when the competition is low and the buyers are shopping? I say YES!
