So what the heck is qr code and how can this thing help sell my home? Well essentially a qr code is a two dimensional code much like the familiar bar codes we see on most everything we buy that stores information about well..anything making this a very valuable marketing tool for tech savvy consumers and today’s real estate buyers.
How a qr code works is super easy. I can generate a code for each listing at a site such as zxing project and input the information into the code generator. For example, when I am listing a home for sale I would input my contact information and then an add about the home. I would then generate a qr code like the one you see above. The code can then be placed anywhere. They can be embedded in a website, printed on a sign or in a magazine or on business cards etc. Consumers can easily and quickly read them with their iPhones, Blackberrys or Android phones by downloading a free app to read qr codes.
How is this important to real estate marketing? Well it is new, cool and fun for one. It is more than just a techie gimmick it has some real merit when it comes to marketing to home buyers who are now tech savvy and want easy access to information via the Internet or their phone.
